What is Rummy?
A certain family of card games is called Rummy. A very popular game and this game has many variations in which Gin Rummy is more popular and it is assumed that Gin Rummy was developed in New York in the early 20th century. It is a fact that Rummyroyal is know to have resultant from Conquian a game which was played in the Mexico. This is also believed that this could have been derived from a card game Mah Jong which was played in China in the 18th century.

This game can be played by minimum 2 player and maximum 6 to 8 players can also play the game.
Usually a standard 52 cards deck is required for the game but in some Rummy games more than 52 cards are used to play this game. A (low), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, J, Q, K (high). In this A is used for Ace, K is used for King, Q is used for Queen and j is used for Jack.
Game Play: The rules of the Rummyroyal are easy to learn but needs complex techniques to win the game. Many times luck also matters to win the game because during card distribution no player knows which cards he will get.

Game’s objective: The main objective of each player’s during the game is to form run of 3 or 4 cards of same rank or to form sequence of 3 or 4 cards of the same suit.

Game Play
When the turn starts in Rummyroyal, for each a turn a dealer is selected to distribute the cards among the players. The dealer is selected either randomly or by draw system. After selection of a dealer, a turn is started from the dealer’s left side in a clockwise manner. If the game is for 2 players then each player gets 10 cards.7 cards for 3-4 players and 6 cards for 5-6 players.

After distribution of cards, the left out cards are placed; face down, on the desk, to form the stock pile.

The Rummyroyal players draw or cut cards for deal and player with a lowest value card deals first. The cards can be shuffled by each player but it is customary for the dealer to shuffle the card.

When the last card is dealt, this is placed, face up on the centre of the desk to form the discard pile. The last card is called Up Card. In each turn, on the discard pile an unwanted card is placed by the players. In discard pile, the cards are placed face up, so cards can be seen before picking up. Each player draws a card from the stock pile by each player in the turn. In this luck matters a lot since cards are placed face down and so drawing a card from stock pile may involve high risks.

In the game Rummyroyal, all cards are collected to make a sequence or sets of 3 or more cards of the same rank or from the same suits. The process of card collection of a set or run is called melding. In knocking, a player knocks when his/her deadwood calculation is less than 10 points. In this, player gets the value of the difference between opponent scores and his own scores. A player “Goes Gin” and gets a bonus if he/she melds his/her hands without deadwood.When a player knocks in Gin then his\her opponent gets the chance to lay off any unwanted cards against the melds. If a player went Gin then laying off is not allowed.
The joker is considered as a wild card in many Rummy games and can be a substitute of any card in a meld. These wild cards are no use in laying off and no points are given in many rummy games.

This game requires techniques to play the game. So in this article so far we have learnt that the Rummyroyal games are uncomplicated to play but only an experienced player who knows all the actions to win the game could be the winner of the game. If a beginner plays game with an experienced one then the later have more chances to win the game. So the game is easy to learn but not simple to win, sometimes luck also matters to win the game.
